Did anyone try amitriptyline for depression and chronic pain due to FM?

Did it work, did you sleep ok while taking this drug? Were you drowsy in the morning (like after the sleeping pill hangover that I try to avoid). Constipation issues? Those are my only concerns, as I have high hopes for this medicine. I am in a horrific pain for months and no physical reason to explain them. So my Dr said its overactive nerves, and amitriptyline will be great for that, and its taken at night so I am hoping to be able to finally sleep! Did any one have luck with this?
